MORE THAN A SIXTH FORM

KINGSTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL

To kickstart Kingston Grammar School’s recruitment campaign for 2023/24, we created a video toolkit to support the campaign ‘#MoreThanJustASixthForm’. Using the brand colour palette and ‘True Colours’ Sixth Form stripe palette, this campaign built on an existing ‘Pop Art’ style of portrait photography.

Every student who comes to KGS has untapped potential ready to burst out and this is precisely what we aimed to represent through a series of fast-cut, mixed-media animated portraits.

Using tightly-directed footage of the students on campus and a range of animated collage techniques we were able to create a scrapbook feel, full of texture and colour. Every shot is different because every student is different. Their unique characteristics and subjects are represented through the pulsing hand-made backgrounds that overlay onto the footage and build abstract worlds and beautiful portraits that are suggestive of their creativity, imagination and ambitions.

The 30 second broadcast HDTV spot ran on Sky, whilst we were able to generate 4K stills for print from the sequence and create short looping moments to work as social media assets and GIFs.
