‘STAIRCASE’ MUSIC VIDEO

KURAKURA

For ‘Staircase’ we shot one 14-second precisely choreographed sequence for the whole 5-minute music video. The entire piece is an epic 500 frames-per-second slow motion one-shot, filmed on the Phantom Flex 4k camera system.

Using a series of audio cues on set for both the lighting changes and our actor/model, Bodil Bjervik Blain, we created a seamless music video timed to match the lyrics of the record. On the 16th attempt we nailed the take!

The set was designed and built specifically for the project, with full-scale replica electronics modules based on inspiration from the International Space Station.

The video was released in January 2020 with an accompanying ‘making-of’ film and Instagram cut-downs.

“Creative duo Reuben and Jamie show off technological mastery to produce a five-minute music video in one fourteen second take.”
SHOTS

“precise and effective, capturing a sense of calm and panic simultaneously, through clever lighting and camera movement.”
